Once a gamer, always a GAMER!
Hey All;
I was digging though my old game CD’s and came across a GEM of a game called Heart Of Darkness that I had to share with you all, because as an animator, voice actor, storyteller & game developer, it fits me like a glove. It has a fantastic story, amazing voice acting, amazing cinematic quality score and sound design, awesome 2D animation and for it’s time pretty decent 3D animation….. Ok the 3D stuff was a little rough around the edges but remember this was back in 98 and did not have a budget of a Hollywood film, so they did amazing with what they had….. But as a complete package it is a game that will remain one of my favorites. Check out the movie like promo trailer they did for Heart Of Darkness:
Check out some 2D / 3D gameplay:
If you can pick up a copy for the Playstation 1 or PC, I would recommend you do so, as it flawlessly combines 2D gameplay and 3D elements, with all of the above mentioned goodness. It is a classic that will live in my heart as one of those games that captures entertainment in it’s purest form and combines well balanced high quality production values in this amazing game.
Games that inspire me are mostly old school titles, anyway here is a list of games I find are top notch entertainment; in one form or another inspire me:
Out Of This World - This game was not only ground breaking, it had a really cool back story.
Heart Of The Alien - The sequel to the above game. Awesome close, to the story.
Heart Of Darkness - Pure gold on a CD as I mentioned above in greater detail.
Full Throttle (LucasArts) - A classic that to this day is still exciting and captivating to play.
The Dig (LucasArts) - Another great classic.
Old Point N Click Adventures - Day Of The Tentacle, Sam N Max, KQ, PQ, SQ e.t.c
Bioshock - One of the best current gen games that tells a good and cool story.
Half Life Series - Some of the best story telling, although vague at times haha
Little Big Planet (PS3) - YES I am a BIG KID!!!!! This one purely because of its creative focus.
Just to name a few
There are lots of other games, that in one form or another inspire me…. but thats enough for now, or you might be reading all night
Once a gamer, always a GAMER!!

Lack Of Updates?!?? How so?
Hello All;
Sorry for the lack of updates, I have been very busy with a few things…. Oh please say it ain’t so.. Sorry but alas it is true. What have I been doing you may be wondering? I am now in Class 6 at Animation Mentor, so needless to say, I have been working my ass off, on my short film. I still have a long way to go and very little time to get it done
and I am sad to say that the school is almost over, and I never thought I would say that about a school….. I will dearly miss the staff, mentors and students…. I have also been busy developing two game titles: Cops & Crooks, an online shooter, coming soon to Windows & OSX. Along with a Nintendo Wii title called Tee Off Madness…. Fighting to get my own game studio off the ground and all… Plus I am trying to stuff in some form of a social life in there hahaha. Thats working out WONDERFUL (*sarcasm*) So yup thats my life currently in a nutshell… Oh well, back to work I go. Short Film Production Started
Hello all;
My short film production has started, the film is titled “Assembly Required” and will run just under 1 minute in length. This is my Animatic story layout, for my short film. I apologize for the crude 2D drawings, but it gets across how I want the film to play out in its roughest form.
Thanks for watching. More on my progress at a later date.

Animated Shorts I Enjoy!
From time to time I will post some news in regards to animation, since there is so much talent out there. Today I am posting two of my favorite animations. The first one is called “The Perils Of Love” It is a french animation, which is just fantastic, it has some great comedic elements with a very serious core story. I only watched this a few days ago and I absolutely love it. Check it out:
Perils Of Love
The second one is actually a series of two videos called “Simon’s Cat” if you are a cat owner, then you will laugh your ass off, as it is so true…. Just watch them below, good comical stuff through out.
Simon’s Cat “Let Me In”
Simon’s Cat “Cat Man Do”
I hope you enjoyed watching them as much as I did. Just goes to show that 2D animation really does have that magical feeling…..

Class 5 Begins!
I am soooo pumped about this, we are now we are starting to plan out our short film! This is it.. Time to pull out all of the stops, time to focus and put in extra time and effort. This will make or break my chances of getting a job in the animation industry after school….. Oh god I am so scared but yet soooo excited to be a part of it all. I will keep you updated from time to time on my progress. Since this term is mostly planning I will not have much animation to show you. However I am considering doing some personal animation tests to keep in practice. This mind is depends on my time and if I have any hahaha. Here is my class 4 final assignment. I am working on this a little more to submit it to the summer showcase. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Site & Formula Change
I decided to change this site, before it was a detailed account on my thoughts on Animation Mentor, and consisted of constant updates on my progress. However I realized I posted less and less on this blog, due to me not having anything to say….. Yes I know what you are thinking…. Me not having much to say?!? HA! But it was true. So for weeks and weeks this site went without updates. So I decided to come up with a new formula, I have now limited showing only my term end progress reels, since really thats all thats needed to be shown. I will also write a graduation letter, talking about my experience at Animation Mentor and sum it up in one post instead of a bunch of boring and un-interesting ones. I will also post other Animation related information on this site, that I find interesting and relevant.
Also I have scrapped YouTube as my video upload source for a MUCH better solution. Now ALL videos will be in glorious 720p High Definition! Yup! How sick is that haha. Crystal Clear picture and sound from the comfort of your browser. I will be re rendering all of my progress reels to match the new HD format.
When I graduate, this site will continue to grow with me, and more or less become my own personal space & portfolio. Also instead of just school news, I will be posting other news related to animation.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you here again.
