As for his family, Louis Wain's father had moved to London from Leek, Staffordshire, where he met Julie Felice Lame (Anglo-French) who attended the same Roman Catholic Church. They married in 1859. He had five younger sisters (two of them became competent artists) and his father worked as a salesman of textiles and fabrics for the mother church and carpets.

To help support his family, he became a freelance illustrator (initially influenced by Caldecott and May).

HG Louis Wain Wells describes best when he said in a broadcast cats, 1925, in an attempt to raise money for the poor artist that three generations have grown up and a few nurseries Louis Wain have been out of his paintings. He made the cat itself. He invented a cat style, a cat society, a world cat. English cats that do not air and live like Louis Wain cats are ashamed themselves.

Sometime in late 1920, Campos was sent to St. James Southwark where he continued to paint and draw his cats.

In 1930 he was Napsbury taken to hospital near Saint Albans where he continued painting and drawing to the end of his days. Exhibitions of his work were held in London in 1931 and 1937. 4. July Louis Wain died in hospital Napsbury. He is buried in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Harrow Road, London NW10 (next to Kensal Green Cemetery, London) next to the graves, as well as his sisters and parents 5.

It's probably the best memory via a quote from HG Wells "It was the same cat. He invented a cat style, a cat society, a world cat. English Cats are not to look and live like Louis Wain cats are ashamed of themselves. "

Louis often lectures on the welfare of the cats and the people asked to take in stray cats, and not just pure-bred cats.
