Crest of the Stars and Banner of Stars I & II: An Empire conquest of an alien planet, and a noble son becomes president in the new culture that is new duties (military service). A very in depth in a valuable crop. battles in space realistically. You might also like Ergo Proxy. and finally, if you like comedy: Full Metal Panic Fumoffu and especially the humor is the best anime, I know.
