Adding a password to a folder?

How I can add a password to a folder or file, like any normal folder when trying to open me for a password to access the substance in it? I spent hours trying to ideas that two peoples and ways to achieve this goal and nothing works! Only I want something as simple as possible with clear cheerleaders on the way to go. Ty

Hello, It's simple … Click the folder you want to protect select> Properties> General tab, click Advanced> Check the box that says the Encrypt contents to secure data> Click OK>> Click Apply this to all folders and subfolders. Or after doing this or a cross in the box that says ECRYPT contents to secure data, you should ask for a password and you're done.
