Why do some metal fans hate metalcore/deathcore?
I stared in Numetal, then went trough the metal scene as it chnaged.
then I got into my first Metalcore band, Lamb of God, shut up, they ARE metalcore, and Killswitch Engage.
now im more into deathcore( Depised Icon, Suicide Silence, Killwhitneydead etc..) as well as Metalcore( Antagonist, Diecast, Straight Line Stitch) still
Why do you hate it? Do you even under stand metalcore? A band doesnt need to have break down to be metalcore, I mean, look at The Black Dahlia Murder.
Do you think they’re ripping off your genre?
Do you think they’re trying to be metal?
I don’t think they are “ripping off my genre” and I don’t think that they are trying to be metal. They are a totally different thing and that’s probably why I don’t like it.
I don’t hate, it’s a waste of time and energy. But, I dislike metalcore and deathcore and I don’t listen to it unless I’m forced to.
I don’t understand it, it’s beyond the things that I think of as music. It’s not the only type of “music” that’s on the list of things that I don’t like and don’t understand, there are things such as hip hop, rap and jazz on that list.
I don’t expect someone that listens to indie or rap to understand my favorite music. And I kinda expect others to understand that I might not like their favorite music. It’s just a matter of personal taste nothing more. Just as liking chocolate and not liking vanilla.
