Tiamat, the dragon of first

The first record of the dragon story is in the Babylonian creation epic, Enuma Elish. First Labbu called by the Sumerians in 3000 BC, this dragon came to be known as Tiamat when that civilization gave way to the Babylonians and their mythologies mixed. Broken down, Tiamat's name means "life-mother" and her dragon was in fact the creator of everything. Some of the animals, the serpent hand and the bird, Tiamat is disgusting in appearance and certainly did not possess the nurturing qualities that we see today as her mother, with her husband Apsu, was terrible, vengeful and full of malice toward the gods, who were descendants and Apsu. Tiamat is the very spirit of chaos, and reigned with Apsu problems in the confusion and disorder.

The conflict began when their children began to put things in order. This upset Apsu, who first consulted his minister Mummu. Together, they devised a plan to end their children, gods, and destroy operations. As Tiamat made their way to share the story wrong, they were surprised by EA, which captured and killed Apsu and Mummd with a spell. Ea is returned to the other gods to inform the terrible news, not knowing that his actions had been seen by his evil brother, Kingu, who had his own plans.

Kingu made his way to Tiamat the news. Instantly, she was furious as he was intrigued. Smoking and full of anger, she led an army composed of eleven kinds of monsters, each one worse than the others. Among them, snarling dragons, snakes and pythons, hurricane monsters, dogs, scorpion-men, tempest furies, Fishman, and mountain sheep. Colossal size, with sharp teeth, and the poison instead of blood, these monsters are not afraid of battle. Finally, Tiamat, Kingu parked in front of the army, compliance by placing the target tables in the chest, for one who was in possession of the tablets allowed to drive.

Meanwhile, there was EA asked the help of his father, Anshar. First, Ea Anshar Tiamat ordered to visit and ask for mercy. Others gathered the courage to confront the great mother-dragon, Kingu but when he saw the head of the army followed by the terrible smoke Tiamat, which was down in fear and saying that the rest of the gods. One by one, the gods attempt reconciliation should be seized with terror and returned. Finally Anshar called Ea son Marduk, exalting him to hero status, the highest of all gods.

Skillfully prepared Marduk terrible weapons of property, including a network of seven winds and all directions. So, ready for battle, Marduk led his army forward. As Marduk boldly approached the battlefield, Kingu losing his composure and began to murmur, causing confusion among the ranks monsters. Undeterred, Marduk called Tiamat. Bright and horrible, evil dragon came to the front of his army.

Furious Marduk Tiamat with their crimes charges. Like a madman, Tiamat cried violently in retaliation. The battle has begun. In the confusion, the gods caught Tiamat in the net. Enraged, Tiamat opened her mouth seven miles wide in protest. Without fear or hesitation Marduk ordered the seven winds to fill your belly. Then, when he fled sound Marduk value used his spear to his belly burst and break internal parts. In a final blow that pierced his heart. Without their creator and tail, the army dispersed and ferocious monsters Marduk claimed victory. The tablets of destiny were captured and given the winner.

But the story of Tiamat does not stop there, or leave their creations. Excision of the housing great dragon half, use Marduk the top half to create the heavens and the most down to earth. The water gushed out of his became the clouds, and his eyes became the source Tigris and Euphrates. Kingu was also killed and their blood was used to create the first human beings. And then, chaos was conquered, and the world was always safe.
