Okay. First, DS stands for “Dual Screen” but Nintendo also marketed it in the beginning as “Developer’s System” since it gave developers a whole new interface to make games with.
Second, I’m not sure what you’re asking regarding the article, but Chris Kohler used to write for Nintendo’s official magazine and he was really popular there, so McWhertor keeps forgetting that the writer’s no longer at Nintendo.
And Dragon Quest for the DS is a big deal because it’s traditionally been a PlayStation franchise, so Square-Enix’s decision to do an entire game on the DS (and not the PS3 or PSP) might be a sign that they’ve lost faith in Sony.
