Alexander McCall Smith – Great four series (so far)

I realized Alexander McCall Smith No 1 Ladies Detective Agency series while watching a "nice" Mystery author. (I am an avid "fan-friendly Mystery.) When I read about this series I thought it would be a perfect complement to reading preferences. I had no idea the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series become one of my favorite series of books. I really do not mind a series of mystery, but I do not see as a cozy "series.

Alexander McCall Smith series of streams

Alexander McCall Smith wrote four series, each on very different topics. One thing they all have in common is that all four of them are very well designed set of books. The four sets are: The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series Isabel Dalhousie series, the Portuguese Irregular Verbs series (aka The Professor Dr. Moritz-Maria von Igelfeld trilogy), and Series 44 Scotland Street.

Mma Ramotswe opens a detective agency in Botswana after reading a manual that explains the basic functions and requirements expected from the detectives. Mma Ramotswe runs a detective agency, but the books are in place in the real short mysteries. The books are nice because the characters (which are really spread) and vivid descriptions of life in Botswana. In fact, you may want to make reservations on the next flight available Botswana!

The Isabel Dalhousie series

This series features Isabel Dalhousie, an incredibly rich and intellectual woman who lives in Edinburgh. Because of its wealth, is able to spend much time thinking about philosophical issues it deems worthy of his time.

Isabel is the editor of The Journal for Applied Ethics, and the first book series takes us into the habit of continually Isabel involved in the life of others. She seems to enjoy his nose in everywhere, which opens opportunities for different plots. Each book tends to have a major problem to be solved by Isabel. These problems an opportunity to correct situations of Isabel … , And philosophize.

Of four series McCall Smith, who seems to have an agenda (all kinds) to transmit … by Isabel philosophical outlook on life. As the editor of The Journal of Applied Ethics, Isabel is able to address the issues of life and problems. Fortunately, however, McCall Smith has included Grace, daughter of Isabel, as a character who does not share views Isabel circumstances is not rich or liberal. Also in the cast of characters is Jamie, a young musician who participates in the life of Isabel and Cat, Isabel is beautiful, young niece.

44 Scotland Street series

Alexander McCall Smith has written books in this series that the provisional story for the newspaper The Scotsman. Due to this reason that the books seem to collections of images, with several plot lines independently at the same time will

All the characters in the novels online 44 Scotland Street in Edinburgh at one time or another. Unfortunately, it is almost always a series, there are characters (with their plots) that are not as nice as others. And since that the 44 books of Scotland are compilations of street stories, the reader must wait for your favorite scene to reappear. But the wait was worth it!

I think enclosing the character in 44 Scotland Street is Bertie, a young genius who just wants to be a boy. McCall Smith rooting and cheering us when we are so lucky Bertie be in the middle of one of their plots. This child is so innately sweet and good, and is a joy to see around your path in life.

This trio of books, says Professor Dr. Moritz-Maria von Igelfeld, an academic who devoted his life to Portuguese irregular verbs. His love of these irregular verbs Portugal is as dazzling big I can not understand that other people do not feel so glorious / Beautiful. This trilogy is probably the most fun four series McCall Smith.

The books include scenarios instead of the mad professor and the doctor inflicts others for their selfish actions. It seems rather insensitive to all the complications it imposes on others … It is part of a complex of guilt or a sense of empathy abundant!

Alexander McCall Smith is a prolific author, but not frightened by the amount of books he wrote. I know that in many cases when an author has written many books in a relatively short period of time the most recent books are listed as "repetitions" of plots and characters.
