I have the VGA port on the TV connected to the laptop, but did not read it?

I used this before and now its not working. I have a laptop HP and a flat screen with a VGA port. when I connect to the laptop PC channel as it should, but does not display the screen of my computer on the TV screen. i try and try to understand, but it will not work! and until I restart the laptop and the HP logo appears on the TV screen, but only as a millasecond then its black. Ahh just want to see season 5 on TV mAh Sailormoon damn! lol

If the computer screen lights up when the TV is is connected to the VGA port, open the display settings. Go to Advanced and set your screen or double in clone mode then apply. Make sure your TV is set to VGA / PC video input. If you have video on a TV, connect the sound output of the laptop (which connects external speakers – usually green) at the entrance Audio (RCA – red white) terminal. Good luck.
