Scarlet Interior in 88 Mustang, rare or hurtfull to resale value?
I have an 88 Mustang GT, and I heard that the original Scarlet Red interior can be hurtfull to the resale value. Is this true? The Scarlet Interior is rare so I figured it would help the resale value out.
The scarlet interior is the least desired of the Fox Body interiors (it may be tied with that random blue that was found in many late ’80s models.)
The preferred interior colors were Gray (most popular) and Black (which alot of people prefer, though most I’ve talked to like the Gray.)
A few years ago, when these cars were more plentiful, there was a chance that someone may opt to go with a gray or black interior over the red interior. Nowadays, with clean Fox bodies being hard to find, alot of people are taking what they can get. So, although it is not as desired as gray/black, I would say that you’ll probably get as much as any other Fox Body owner would get for a car in comparable condition, as long as your car isn’t dogged out like some many 5.0s are now.
