The toy store in Tokyo

There are many toy stores in and around Tokyo, and after years of travel and research, I developed a guide one of the best.

Hakuhinkan Toy Park – Tokyo

Location: Ginza, Tokyo
Nearest stations: Shimbashi or Ginza (approximately 4 minutes walk)

Hakuhinkan was a toy store on my first visit to Tokyo as mentioned in most guides. Not the best toy store, but it is worth the detour. The first floor contains a good selection of novelty items and gadgets and it is rare where they spend most of my time. The other floors contain a good selection of toys to the Japanese and Western If you are looking for some toys for friends and relatives is a good place to visit.

Yamashiroya

Location: Ueno, Tokyo
Nearest station: Ueno

Now, it's really very important, Yamashiroya spread over several floors, is absolutely stuffed toys, games, gadgets, the flame is around here. It contains a wide selection of Japanese and Western toys, with a good selection of Transformers and Star Wars. It is very difficult to get into this store without spending money, even if it enters the machine out of Gashapon.

A strange rule in this store is that you must pay for your items on the ground, found, so spending money up, you end up with several bags of products acquired in the lower floors.

Japanese Monster

Location: Ebisu, Tokyo
Nearest station: Ebisu

Monster Japan is a small shop hidden on the upper floors of the building in Ebisu, Tokyo and specializes in toys and imports from the USA. Despite all the toys are imports, you can always find a bargain, especially if the exchange rate is good. They have good lines of Star Wars, Transformers, GI Joe, and all toys from the latest films.

Earth Child

Location: Harajuku, Tokyo
The nearest stations: Meijijingumae, Harajuku

Do not be fooled by the name you, Kiddy Land is not just for kids, but you will find a very busy place. Spread over seven floors is a great toy store for all.

On each floor are a different kind of toys from around the world. They have the largest collection of Peanuts Snoopy toys and I think I've seen and a great selection of some of many cute and cuddly characters of Japans most anime cartoons.

Kiddy Land is a store chain with stores in other parts of Japan.

Star Mike

Location: Harajuku, Tokyo
The nearest stations: Meijijingumae, Harajuku

Astro Mike is a small toy store hidden on the streets of Harajuku, Tokyo. Although only a few square meters is packed floor to ceiling with toys of all kinds. Of Smurfs Star Wars is all there. Staff has always been very friendly and helpful which makes it worth a visit, and only a few steps from Kiddyland.

Akihabara

Location: Akihabara, Tokyo
Nearest station: Akihabara

Although Akihabara is known as the electric town selling all known products and electronics, is also a great place for collectors toys.

Coming out of Akihabara station is surrounded by stores selling appliances and small piles. But among them are many toy stores. Leading a department store here, but most are small independent stores that come and go. Every time we visited, there were different stores to find. It is also the best place to go to find distributors Gashapon, which are almost all corners and out of most stores.

Nakano Broadway

Location: Nakano Tokyo
Nearest station: Nakano

Nakano Broadway Mall is the place is not probably the biggest and best collection of toys and collectibles store in Tokyo. Located on floors, second, third and fourth, it is absolutely packed with small shops specializing in all types of collectible toys old and new.

Some of my favorite shops in Nakano Mandarake and Robot. Mandrake has a lot of stores different in each one focusing on a different domain. The store is worth the detour cosplay. You can even take his collection of old-money trade.

It is easy to spend an entire day here just browsing through the many small shops, each one filled to the brim with the matter.

Sunshine City

Location: Ikebukuro
Nearest station: Ikebukuro

Sunshine City is one of the best shopping along malls Tokyo, sometimes spending a whole day looking around. In the toy business is a good Toys R Us in the basement never fails to deliver. He always has a good selection of two western-style toys and Japanese. And some preschool toys are so damn cute, is not difficult to get another Doreamon for your collection.

Sunshine City Outside is a small row of shops specializing in manga, including Animate and K-Books.
