Visit Tokyo: Ikebukuro Sunshine City
Some guides say Ikebukuro, north of metropolitan Tokyo, Japan, is primarily a business district. In fact, today is an entertainment district with numerous restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and karaoke, arts and culture and shopping required premium.
Ikebukuro is a convenient base for you because you have a train station, the connection of several lines, including the JR Yamanote Line, JR Saikyo Line Tobu Tojo Line and Marunouchi Yurakucho line.
The Ikebukuro is built and a bit short on green space. There are green areas, but tend to consist of many trees around a cobblestone square in place of the beautiful gardens of Shinjuku Koen west garden or the Imperial Palace. However, if you're ready to go shopping and leisure and which is a great visit.
Ikebukuro Station is bounded on both sides by massive superstores Tobu and Seibu beautifully in the west to east. Both are full of everything you expect from a good store like perfumes and cosmetics on the ground floor, and bring clothes to designer toys, furniture and food hall encouraged in the basement. I'm not kidding when I say that it is very possible that these stores lost in despair. If you see something you like, it is better to buy there and then and can not be able to find it later!
Once you get out of the station area, west side, is the Metropolitan Art Space Tokyo. The concert hall, mainly hosts concerts of classical and orchestral music, and also a cafeteria, gift shop and art exhibitions in the lobby. In front of the main building open space becomes a used book market on Sunday.
Following the road north and then east side of the station you will see many shops, including several branches of Bic Camera for electronics, Marui, Park, Mitsukoshi, Tokyu Hands and Uniqlo.
One of the strengths of the region in Sunshine City, which is about 15 minutes walk east of Ikebukuro station. Sunshine City is a large business center which also houses large corporate offices, an aquarium and a planetarium. There are two floors of retail, most of which is women's fashion and shoes and, fortunately, includes many small shops in the designer boutiques of the most exclusive. Apart from the fashion of the ladies, also some nice shops to home, a three-room shop where you can get good deals that everything costs 300 yen (plus tax, which makes about 312 yen!) and a shop for all your Ghibli Totoro, Kiki and Chihiro goods. The more unit large one here seems to be occupied by Toys R Us in the basement.
There are, of course, many restaurants and cafes as well as when you are tired. You will find everything from fast food like McDonald's and Ten-ya, European-style pastry calmer, more expensive Japanese restaurants.
The exterior of Sunshine City building, several shops and Manga and Anime is also in this area that had a tendency to "brown girls Butler or maid cafes!
Visit Ikebukuro can be exhausting, but very fun and has much to offer in terms of shopping and nightlife.
