Why is it bad manners to wear a hat on the table?
I know it's rude, and I never do. But I was talking with a friend the other day, and none of us could know where this gesture is. Besides, why do not you take your hat off in front of a test of respect for this lady?
I think that goes back to the days when men Tribunal – coming battle to meet the ladies of the nobility – the use of helmets. He considered rude and not very gentlemanly, not to allow women to see the faces of the knights, so they were removed. No source of this, of course, I remember reading somewhere. It is very possible that I'm wrong.
