How old is Kitty best for my cat?

We had two kittens, a 2-year-old who died and 4. 5 years who need a new friend, he is a man inside, the cat altered. The only cat, has been socialized with our other cat. What is the best age to get our cat a cat, a kitten or an adult?

I have eight cats, and with the exception of one, we have brought home when they were kittens (9 weeks). Our cats are older than 12 years to 3 years. The cats had no problem with us bringing in young kittens. I think the kittens are "young" scent on them so that become a threat to the elderly. They always have very good. The cat who had the house to adulthood (there was a house that was cared for him since ….. out in a snowstorm with shelter, food or water because they had a new kitten) has caused some tension when he came to live with us, but after a month or two, as if he had been there all his life. Since your cat is changed (good for you!) Should not be too many problems with bears in another playmate for him. Personally, I think that youth is the best. Because the cat has lost only two years, and the playmate of your old Kitty, I recommend getting a kitten from 6 months and 1 1 / 2 years. Old enough to be able to interact with having to spend much time on the "pot" of training, and other things you have in catkins little help (and make your potentionally old cat to feel that you do not like much), but young enough not to threaten the old. If you can, get repaired before you take home (if not already), especially if it is a male. When you bring home a new bundle of joy, give your kitty an additional warranty. Spend little more time with him if necessary.
