What time should my story take place in?
I planing a story that right now takes place in a legend of zelda-like time and in a forest. but then I thought, if I made it take place in a more modern setting i’d be easier for me to create ideas and the plot. Then theres only one problem, the main characters niece has to be killed be her because shes become all demonic, But if they were in a modern setting she could just have her brought to the hospital and get her a shot or something to kill her, but the the girl killing her is a major part of the plot and I don’t know what to do?!
Try a post-apocalyptic setting. It could have all the technologies of the modern time, but with the flaw of few humans and a growing demon population. That way you could have your Legend of Zelda themes with the twist of future weapons and current characters.
