Will anime fans from this generation like Macross Frontier?

I am the president of an anime club and I am trying to decide on what to show in our club. Its a collage anime club so there are mature people in it, but at the same time its an average university so most students arnt artistically oriented. That being said, one of the officers in the club keeps recomending that we show the new macross frontier becuse it is an important event in anime history happening right now and he thinks its damn good. I get his argument, but I was actually pretty bored with a few of the begening episodes and I know a lot of anime fans that have never seen macross before and pretty much hate space and mecha anime. Most of our members and potential members are new anime fans from this generation who know nothing about Macross so I am worried that if we show it everyone will not like it and leave.our ultimate goal is to get as many members in this club as possible.

when i watched Macross F for the first time… I loved it right away… its way different then the Anime series currently going on… i recommend you show it
