why does my optical mouse suddenly cease to be recognised after working well for a variable time?

Both the wired and the cordless optical mice cursors cease to move after some minutes of working well in windows vista

dont worry mate,this is a vista only problem and i experienced this on a daily basis(sometimes 5 to 6 times a day) when i had windows vista installed on my pc
initially i was worried my motherboard was knackered and this would be a replacement however i decided to install windows xp to see if this made any difference and to my amazement i have experienced no freezes or crashes and my pc has never worked better
so what makes my pc(and your pc) freeze when running windows vista?
well my opinion is the way windows vista was written,the code base was redesigned from the ground upwards so vista is basically different from any other version of windows,and i think microsoft have just got it badly wrong and should bury vista for good
infact i have also installed the windows 7 release candidate which you would expect to cause problems however it ran fine and over the 2 weeks i had it installed on the system i had no freezes or crashes
solution : basically either install windows xp or windows 7,or if you want to even a linux distro such as “ubuntu” or “mandriva”…anything but vista
