Tips on Pencil Portrait drawing – Construction
Suppose we have a profile on the head, arms and fingers are visible and contact. Very often, the artist initially try each of these elements individually. The approach will always lead to frustration and, finally, often to disappointment.
Instead of drawing each element separately, the first step in its design should attract all the "arabesque, is the whole scheme of the figure. Arabesque package that includes parties other than the skull (In this case, the skull, fingers and arms) is called the "construction".
For novices, it is preferable to reduce the arabesque complete its simplest form neglecting all the details, such as trauma to the fingers and hair. With experience, you will able to add all these blows without too much difficulty as it progresses.
Good construction (also known as a full arabesque) also contains a gesture unique tempo that makes all the details. In other words, the rhythmic gesture exists independently of the details.
When you draw an entity A single element or head height and width size is quite simple. As a universal rule of the width of the skull compared with its length using the base of the chin the main point of reference.
If for some reason the chin is conceiled (for example, behind the arm or fingers), another reference point to be found. The arm, jaw, or the lines of the fingers are excellent places to find a new point of reference.
Once you have outlined a construction successful, it must check its accuracy. To do this, you may, for example, look for vertical and horizontal distances or are supposed to be the same and see if in fact are the same. Use your knowledge of observation. Also use your general knowledge of the anatomical development of the eyes, ears, etc.
Once you are satisfied that the construction is exactly the route, you can continue block, the main light / dark action plan and make the first move, in principle, development of the area face, namely the establishment of the forehead, eyes, nose and mouth. Again, if the usual benchmarks of these elements can, for some reason can not be used, must be creative enough to identify suitable alternatives.
Keep an outbreak of all items as soon as you draw. This includes fingers, arms and hair so none of them are visible in the specific profile that you draw. Remember not always work from general to specific.
Also, be sure to use a sharp pencil, to take into account their knowledge of anatomy, and are constantly looking for mistakes, and, of course, correct.
Then, the portrait pencil drawing must now be established by the tonal shading 8B, 2H, 4H and pencils, graphite blening with your fingers or a strain, and use your kneaded eraser to characterize the fires. Everything must be done in a pictorial.
Finally, you can choose the amount of detail you want in your design or shape can leave unfinished drawing. For example, you can leave some parts of the fingers or arms unfinished. Or, if you want to focus on the one hand given the portrait, you can add the information in this part and leave the other sparsely unfinished.
Several of these many considerations into development of a more complex picture that has a building. An important thing to remember is that if you pull the first building do not end up drawing a party after another without maintaining unity. Following no doubt these rules will put on track to produce more complex portraits.
