My new plastic shower curtain smells plasticy terrible, how I can get rid of that smell?

This is a regular plastic transparent shower curtain linen and things, which has a terrible odor to it. What should I do to diminsh this smell? this smell go away with time?

I love that smell! It feels like a beach ball and is one of my favorite childhood smells! Ahh the memories …. anyway, the smell diminishes itself after using the shower a couple of times. Give it a few days.
