Why is it that Papa Smurf and Smurfette are the only smurf’s with hair and why is smurfette the only girl?
Smurf fanatics out there this pressing matter is driving me insane. This issue has only just been brought to my attention and it’s a question I am confused about. I know how smurfette became a smurf and how she was created by evil for evil but turned against it because the smurfs were so nice, but why is she the only. It doesn’t make much natrual sense, the smurfs are plentiful and have ever increasing numbers, but with one girl how do they reproduce and how did they ever before she came along. They could all be hermaphrodites? Someone please tell me and then try to answer my smurf hair question. By making the smurfs bald they are more creepy and paedophile like, most of them are young with Papa smurf being the only real old one, do they do the opposite of humans and gain hair with age. Someone please put me out of my misery!!
Papa Smurf and Smurfette are quite different. The original story was filmed and released in the US as the Smurfs and the Magic Flute (though it was the Flute of the Six Smurfs). Smurfette isn’t in there at all. All the Smurfs are male. Gargamel made Smurfette and he wants to destroy, not create Smurfs. Yes the Smurfs do look like little boys, and the baldness is reminiscent of crewcuts which were common on little boys during the fifties when they were created, but I would not call the pedophille-bait. I suggest you watch that movie or buy the comic album (as they are called) which was not a Smurf album but was part of a series about a medieval knight named Jehan and his buddy the dwarf Pirlouit (or Peewit in English) where they are very impressive and somewhat dangerous if you are not their friend.
