Important periods in Japanese history
The history of Japan is strongly supported by the archaeological evidence indicating people began to live on this island in the Upper Paleolithic period. It is divided into several periods, which were governed by different leaders. From the period Jomon, some of the most important are discussed below: –
- Jomon Period, Japan's head during this period lived hunting and fishing. They used to produce the cord marked ceramics.
- Kofun period (300-710 AD) – during this period, weapons, items and tools farming were introduced from Korea and China. The main character of this period has been the huge mound tombs were built for the political elite. These cylinders were surrounded by clay figures called haniwa.
- Nara period (AD 710-794) – A centralized government was established with its capital in Nara. It follows RitsuryĆ system, which was a legal codes of Chinese style. Kokubunji Temple as established and followed the Buddhist religion was in art and architecture flourished. It was during this period that the Great Buddha at Todaiji temple was built.
- Heian time (794-1185 AD) – For many families, especially the Fujiwara family, took control of the government. A style of the indigenous culture of the majority of living has been introduced to the culture of Chinese style which dominated the Nara period. The beautiful gardens the palace and the residences of the royal family has the characteristic style of architecture. The period is also famous for literary masterpieces.
- Kamakura Period (1185-1333) – Minamoto family defeated Taira family that has dominated the previous period. military style of government began in this period by a member of the warrior class. Its powerful realistic style was represented by a statue of guardian deities and sculpture in other temples.
- Muromachi Period (1333-1568) – Has been dominated by the confrontation between Emperor Go-Daigo and Ashikaga support, which overthrew the Kamakura. Farmers and traders have begun to improve their condition the emergence of a more plebeian form of government.
- Azuchi-Momoyama period (1568-1600) – Contact with Europeans has increased during this period floral and decorative style developed in the hands of war charges.
- Edo Period (1600-1868) – during this period, the control over Japan was acquired by Tokugawa Ieyasu in Edo (now Tokyo). The class culture flourished new distributors with the start of kabuki drama.
- Meiji period (1868-1912) – Western culture and civilization began permeates every aspect of Japanese life. modern Japanese literature is born and the first literary work was written in modern slang.
- Taisho Period (1912-1926) – Western books became popular among urban educated middle class. radio broadcast, newspaper circulation general and comprehensive monthly added to the richness of cultural life.
- Showa Period (1926 – 1989) – After the financial crisis of 1927, Japan government regained control and recover its economy among the major democratic powers in the world.
After she began Heisei period (1989 to present), who worked for the overthrow of Japan and led to some important events in the history of Japan.
