One of the "essential few must-see" animated Christmas classics, How to the Grinch Stole Christmas Dr. Seuss Day is a masterpiece. Created in 1966 following the phenomenal success surrounding such TV special A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965) and Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964), the Grinch is transformed into a sacred annual Christmas rite perfect for all children 1-92. The narration and singing voice of Boris Karloff da life history of Dr. Seuss 1955 to a dark and miserly heart of redemption, thus revealing the true meaning of Christmas. How the Grinch Stole Christmas follows the life of a forest green cave monster with a heart of seven sizes too small. Living with your dog in a mountain hut above the town of Whoville, the Grinch (voiced by Karloff) hates all the Whos, but what he hates most of all happiness is endless and the celebration of Christmas is coming. So the Grinch, smiling his evil Grinch grin, hatches a plan to steal Christmas. Gross Fashioning dog reindeer antlers costume and a Santa Claus himself, the Grinch drives a sleigh down in Whoville improvised, while sleeping at night Christmas. He steals their lights, their ribbons and bows. He steals their boxes, packages and bags. Steals wreaths and Christmas trees and even your roast beast – Why that evil Grinch even stole the Who hash! And the only thing left was a crumb too small even for a mouse … But when The Grinch is caught by the most innocent of Whos, his master plan begins to deteriorate. Created under the direction of Chuck Jones, creator of the famous Warner Brothers characters as the Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote and Pepe Le Pew, How The Grinch Stole Christmas is a masterful production with stellar voice-overs, imaginatively drawn characters, stunning and the narration of Boris Karloff. In fact, facial expressions and movements of the Grinch mimic Wile E. Coyote in many ways.
