Wallace Gromit
What kind of clay is used for clayanimations such as Wallace And Gromit?

What kind of clay does Aardman use to make stop motion claymation movies such as Wallace And Gromit? And do they use replaceable mouths or are they reshaped? Are they replaceable heads or just the bottom half? Overall, how do they make their characters?

I heard they used a mix of plasticine and polymer clay for the nonmoveable parts, but what do they use for the moving parts?

If I’m remembering correctly, I believe they use Van Aken plasticine. Aardman uses replacement mouths. You should rent the Curse of the Were-Rabbit DVD and watch the “Making of” featurette.

Composer Julian Nott has been associated with Wallace and Gromit since their beginning in short films, so of course his signature theme for the duo pops up in the Were-Rabbit soundtrack (try figuring out how many times Nott sneaks it in).
