Why is YOGI Bear called YOGI bear?
Does Yogi Bear have anything to do with YOGA? Why the name ?
Yogi Bear was named that after the “colorful” baseball player/coach Yogi Berra who was as famous for his creative use of the English Language as Samuel Goldwyn (“They stayed away in droves”) was. Among his quotes in the Wikipedia:
It’s déjà vu all over again”
“It ain’t over till it’s over.”
“Always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise they won’t go to yours.”
Of course Hanna Barbara denies it, but why would they give Yogi Bear one of those horrible fake California “Noo Yawk” accents if they didn’t mean we know who?
